## **Microsoft to bring their new Surface Laptop 2 equipped with the latest 8th gen Intel CPUs starting at $999**

Among a bunch of new products, Microsoft unveiled the 2nd generation of their previous year launched Surface Laptop. The Surface Laptop, which is a premium laptop, received positive feedback from Indian customers last year.

So, this year Microsoft has continued their legacy by launching the Surface Laptop 2 globally and eventually will land in India soon.

### **Specs:**

The basic design of the laptop remains the same as its predecessor, with **3:2 display** with a **13.5-inch PixelSense screen** in **2256 x 1504 pixels** (201 PPI) resolution. The display of the laptop also supports **10 point multi-touch**.

Coming to the performance, the Surface Laptop 2 packs up to a **quad-core Intel Core i7 processor** and up to **16GB of DDR4 RAM**. For the storage, we have the **PCIe NVME SSD** based storage, from 128GB to 1TB capacity.

Like its brother, [Surface Pro 6](https://technosports.co.in/2018/10/04/microsoft-surface-pro-6-with-8th-gen-intel-cpus-launched/), this one too lacks a discrete graphics card and ThunderBolt 3 port. This means the Surface Laptop will also depend on the inbuilt **Intel UHD graphics**. Plus, there’s no option to add an external graphics via ThunderBolt 3 port, which is very annoying for such a premium end laptop.

For the connectivity, you get a full-size USB 3.0, a regular headphone jack, a mini Display Port and the proprietary Surface Connect port.

Microsoft did not reveal the battery specs of the laptop and only claims a hard to believe**14.5 hours** of local video playback.

### **Price & Availability**

This time, the Surface Laptop 2 will also have a new **black finish** that feels more premium and elegant. Also, there will be a **colourful teal**, **burgundy** options along with the **grey variant**. The Black variant both looks and feels different from other ones, it has a classy and elegant touch.

The Surface Laptop 2 is now available in selected markets, and you can configure the notebook [from $999](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/surface/8XQJKK3DD91B?ICID=SurfaceDept_R1_CP2_SurfaceFamily_100218&irgwc=1&OCID=AID681541_aff_7593_159229&tduid=%28ir_0e8dadaaN998ce8d9dd9214788a761077%29%287593%29%28159229%29%28%29%28UUwpUdUnU59216YYwYwo5uw4zdpo5zwgzloorzgc3bomnxw2%29&irclickid=0e8dadaaN998ce8d9dd9214788a761077&activetab=pivot:techspecstab). Though it lacks some important hardware specs, still it’s not a bad deal either.
