In 2020, Microsoft didn’t make a lot of its announcements with its Surface line of products, however, launched the Surface Laptop Go instead. The much-anticipated Surface Laptop 4, though, could finally end up launching soon as the new Geekbench listings seem to confirm that.

The laptop has been spotted running with AMD Ryzen 5 3580U Surface Edition processor and that’s natural as AMD develops custom chips for Microsoft for quite some time now. However, what’s interesting is that apart from sporting 6 cores and 12 threads, the chip is marked as “Renoir” or Zen 2 based.

Obviously, the clock speeds are a bit deformed, but this morning, @TUM_APISAK has again spotted the laptop; this time, it’s the AMD Ryzen 5 3780U with 8 cores and 16 threads.

Interestingly, both listings share the same motherboard and that suggests that Microsoft is indeed testing out the new Surface Laptop 4 and will support superior AMD chips again.

Although the listing says, Renoir, it is safe to assume that these are the refreshed Renoir chips found in the new Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U Lucienne APUs. As of now, the new Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 is speculated to make its way in April and these leaks do confirm that.
