Microsoft’s Skill Opt is revolutionizing AI development in 2026. By decoupling agent logic from base models, it enables instant skill upgrades without expensive retraining. This modular framework treats capabilities as standalone tools, preventing “catastrophic forgetting.” Developers can now optimize performance, slash compute costs, and deploy updates rapidly. It’s the ultimate upgrade for smarter, leaner, and more efficient autonomous enterprise agents.
