On the morning of Friday, 19 July 2024, Microsoft Servers worldwide experienced a shutdown, which had massive repercussions across the globe. Football clubs Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers also suffered from the outage.
United and Palace put out an official statement, informing fans that all ticket sales were suspended due to the IT servers crashing.

“Unfortunately, due to a global Microsoft Servers outage which is affecting many systems, including ours, this morning’s ticket release will be postponed until midday,” United’s official statement revealed.
“The website will also remain unavailable until the issue is resolved. Further updates will be provided here, including any further potential delays.”
The issue has since been resolved and the servers are back up. Which means fans can now purchase tickets from the club’s official websites as well.
