Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement over a €50 million fee for Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven, after agreeing personal terms over a long-term contract.
Tottenham’s first offer worth €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons had been turned down. But, the two clubs have now reached an agreement for €50 million including add-ons, which is what the German side wanted.
Micky van de Ven to join Tottenham this summer
The Dutch defender will join Manor Solomon, James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario as the new signings for the club this summer. His arrival will be a significant addition to the club’s defensive lineup so far.
Tottenham are also in talks with Edmond Tapsoba alongside Micky van de Ven and are expected to sign both centre-backs. Talks with Bayer Leverkusen are expected to begin soon, with the player open to leaving for the Premier League.
There are also rumours that because of the club signing both defenders, Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich could finally go through. The striker has been linked with the German champions for weeks, and a breakthrough in negotiations could finally arrive in the near future which would help fund the two centre-back signings.
