Juventus have made their first signing of the new season, recruiting Michele Di Gregorio from Monza as their new goalkeeper. The Bianconeri will pay Monza €18 million upfront, with €2 million available in the form of add-ons to make the total package worth €20 million.
The Monza shotstopper has been hailed as one of the best in Serie A, and has been approved by new manager Thiago Motta too.

The 26-year-old has played 33 games this season, and kept 14 clean sheets while conceding only 35 goals, helping Monza finish 12th in the league. And now, the Inter academy graduate will play for one of their biggest rivals from the coming season.
Michele Di Gregorio’s arrival casts doubt on the future of Wojciech Szczesny, with the Poland international likely to take a back seat considering the new keeper’s arrival. Or, it could be a transition phase where the 34-year-old retains his spot but competes with Gregorio for game time as he sees out the final year of his contract.
Either way, Juventus have made a great investment for their future and could benefit from an overhaul under Thiago Motta from the coming season.
