Arsenal youngster Michal Rosiak has signed his first professional contract with the club. The youngster has penned a deal until 2024, and is now expected to feature for the first team.
He has been very impressive at the under-18 level, and has showcased his attack-minded approach to the full-back position. This season, he has scored and assisted seven goals in 16 games across all competitions. Moreover, he also played a very important role in their FA Youth Cup run as they beat Manchester City in the semifinals.
Michal Rosiak signs first professional contract with Arsenal
“Signing my first professional contract for Arsenal means everything to me, it’s pretty amazing,” he told Arsenal’s official website after putting pen to paper.
“Playing for the club I’ve always loved and watched growing up, hopefully it will be the first of many contracts.”
“I think my progress has been very good, I’ve been progressing very well.
“Clearly, you can see from getting my first professional contract. I prefer to be a midfielder but if it’s an inverted full-back, I can do that! I’ve been practising free-kicks quite a lot, I’m trying to master the technique to score more goals from set pieces.
“It’s pretty amazing [to wear the Arsenal shirt], especially when you think of the past and what kind of players wore this shirt, and obviously Jack [Wilshere] our coach as a player, and a coach now. Since the start, he has given me little tips and tricks on the pitch and off the pitch, and show how he used to react.”
It now remains to be seen how Mikel Arteta makes use of another very talented youngster in his squad. Michal Rosiak could find himself replacing Ben White on the right side of the back four soon.
