Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition is the first of its kind, that will be mass produced being a transparent TV and will be available to the mass for $7,000. So what is a transparent TV? It is a transparent glass like OLED panel for this TV which when turned off looks like a transparent glass and can be seen through. When the TV is turned on the colours pops out on the glass OLED panel and it becomes partially opaque with all the colours on the display so that the pictures appear prominent.
The MI TV LUX Transparent Edition comes with a 55-inches OLED panel. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 150,000:1 contrast ratio, and it has 93 percent of the DCI-P3 color profile. It also offers 120Hz MEMC motion interpolation. Xiaomi also claims an impressive 1ms pixel response time.
This TV features a flagship MediaTek 9650 TV chipset along with with Xiaomi’s AI Master Smart Engine image processing that offers over 20 optimization algorithms and dedicated optimization for 5 major use scenarios.
The TV LUX OLED has a 5.7 mm ultra-thin display. It also has a feature called AI Master for Audio that can detect the content that is playing on the TV and will play the suitable audio quality accordingly, moreover, it also has a Dolby Atmos support. For the UI users will experience a custom-designed version of MIUI for TV.
This picture shows all the ports that are present at the base of this TV. This Tv can not be wall mounted as the panel is only a glass OLED display that has all its hardwares within its base, so neither it can be detached from the base nor can the users mount it on the wall.
MI TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition is priced at RMB 49,999 (approx $7200). The TV will go on sale in China on August 16 at 10:00.
