The long-rumored Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake was eventually announced alongside the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 bundle at Sony’s newest PlayStation Showcase event. These Metal Gear Solid games have been rumored for quite some time, but fans now have formal proof.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is significant for being the Metal Gear Solid series’ first game. So, despite being the third numbered entry in the series, it makes sense to start there if Konami is intending to rebuild Hideo Kojima’s games rather than creating brand-new Metal Gear Solid experiences. It’s unclear how significant the modifications in the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will be, considering the introduction clip was short on details.

The news of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, which will allow fans of the genre to relive the old Metal Gear Solid titles on modern platforms, may excite fans even more than the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake confirmation.

While no release date has been given for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 set has been confirmed for Autumn 2023. The original Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and the original version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be included in this compilation.

Since the announcement occurred at the PlayStation Showcase, all fans know for certain is that the collection will be available on the PS5, but insiders have speculated that it may also be available on other platforms such as PC and Xbox.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 are both in development.
