Love isn’t always picture-perfect — and Netflix’s newest K-drama film is leaning all the way into that truth. *Messily Ever After (Working Title)*, previously known as *Starlight*, has officially begun filming in February 2026, and honestly? We’re already emotionally invested.

## What’s the Story?

Su-hyun (Kim Min-ha) and Hyun-tae (Noh Sang-hyun) meet on an art school campus and fall head-over-heels — but a decade later, they still love each other just as much as they drive each other crazy. Think loyalty, jealousy, desire, and doubt all tangled together. This is what a [romantic comedy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_comedy_film) looks like when it’s brutally honest about long-term love — and we’re here for every messy second of it.

## The Cast You Need to Know

**Kim Min-ha** plays Su-hyun, a perfectionist curator who loses all composure the moment love and jealousy collide. You might know her from *Pachinko* or *Light Shop*, and she’s set to star in Netflix’s upcoming [Dead-End Job](https://technosports.co.in) as well.

**Noh Sang-hyun** plays Hyun-tae, a passionate installation artist who isn’t afraid to go all-in — on his art or his relationship. He recently appeared in Netflix’s *Genie, Make a Wish*.

**Roh Jae-won**, best known globally as No. 124 in *Squid Game* seasons 2 and 3, rounds out the lead trio in a supporting role.

## Why This One Feels Different

Most K-drama rom-coms wrap things up in a neat little bow. *Messily Ever After* instead digs into the emotional whiplash of actually knowing someone — the irritation, the desire, the doubt. It’s the kind of story that feels real because it *is* real. Directed by Seo Jung Min of *Let’s Eat* fame, this one has heart and a sharp eye for human complexity.
