When the world is waiting to hear Messi today at his interview with La Sexta airing in few hours now, the Argentine did not appear in the recent training. This raised a lot of speculation across various media outlets and Twitter as well:

Official — Lionel Messi didn't train with the group today with the permission of the club. The Argentine will have an extended holiday and return to the team after the Eibar game.

In the meantime, officially there has been the announcement by FC Barcelona that Messi has been out due to an injury and he is completing the treatment of his right ankle. Their blog stated:

First-team player Lionel Messi is completing the treatment of his right ankle. The player is expected to return to training after the FC Barcelona-SD Eibar match.

So, Messi is in Argentina with his family and will only join after Tuesday’s match against Eibar and it will interesting to see how the team performs without Messi.
