Lionel Messi and his former Barcelona teammate Ronaldinho have reunited for a Pepsi commercial. The two played together at Camp Nou, as Ronaldinho handed down his number 10 shirt to the Argentinian, who went on to create his own unparalleled legacy with the shirt.

Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho feature in new Pepsi ad

The ad features Messi and Ronaldinho playing a game of ‘Pepsi Pong’ with each other.

Ronaldinho goes first, shooting the ball which ricochets off the edge of the cup. The Brazilian proceeds to show off his skills with a few keep ups, before putting it into the first cup.

The camera angle goes on to show that the two are actually playing with ping pong balls, to the awe of fans. However, some clearly pointed out that there was CGI involved, and were left underwhelmed by the editing of the ad. But, it was a welcome sight for fans who didn’t mind the poor editing much.

Messi takes a drink from the cup, as per the rules of the game, and then goes on to shoot himself. Only during his time, the three balls held over the cups all drop down correctly as Ronaldinho applauds the seven time Ballon d’Or award winner.

Messi has appeared in numerous Pepsi ads over the years. He has been a part of ads with Premier League stars Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Mohamed Salah in the past as well.
