Meizu can launch another flagship with more powerful chipset than Meizu 18 series

Meizu 18

Earlier this month, it was reported that two Meizu phones have passed the certification of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Now there are reports that the company is preparing to release another flagship that will be more powerful than the Meizu 18 series released earlier this year.

This news came as a surprise since earlier Meizu announced a strategy according to which it plans to release only two flagship smartphones once a year (this year it was Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro of Meizu 18 series). According to the latest news, this situation may change this year.

A Chinese leaker Bald Panda on Weibo has revealed this. The smartphone, according to the informant, will get a more powerful chip. Considering that Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro run on SoC Snapdragon 888, we are talking about its improved version Snapdragon 888+ which many manufacturers will use for their flagship phones, scheduled for release in the second half of this year. Recall, the processor has introduced a month ago. It boasts of increased frequency of the core Cortex-X1 from 2.84 GHz to 3.0 GHz, as well as increased performance of the Qualcomm AI module Engine, which is responsible for the AI function.

It is reported that one of the two devices that have recently passed certification is a new flagship product. We don’t yet know what the new Meizu phone will be called, but there have been speculations that Meizu might call it the Meizu 18s or Meizu 18T. The device could very well be a slightly improved version of the Meizu 18.

In addition, the second of these two devices may be a more affordable version, equipped with Snapdragon 870 or Dimensity 1200 processors.
