MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 9400+, an enhanced version of its flagship Dimensity 9400 chipset, just ahead of the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC) 2025.

MediaTek Officially Debuts Dimensity 9400+ With 3.73GHz Clock, 12-Core GPU, 3nm Process, and Smarter AI

The upgraded SoC is still built using TSMC’s second-gen 3nm process and sticks to the all-large core CPU architecture. However, performance has received a bump with the Arm Cortex-X925 prime core now running at 3.73GHz, up from 3.62GHz. You also get three Cortex-X4 cores running at 3.30GHz and four efficiency cores of the Cortex-A720 variety operating at 2.4GHz.

The AI front gets a new NPU 890, which supports a wider array of large language models (LLMs) around the world than the older chip. It also includes support for key AI features like Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), Multi-Token Prediction (MTP), and FP8 inference. The new architecture enables 20% faster agentic AI performance, powered by MediaTek’s Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+).

The GPU receives a significant upgrade with the 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925. This GPU now supports opacity micromap (OMM) technology for more lifelike visual effects. An updated frame rate converter, MFRC 2.0+, was co-designed with game developers to double effective frame rates, with better power efficiency—up to 40% better. For image signal processing, it sticks with the MediaTek Imagiq 1090, which enables HDR video capture across the entire zoom range. Smooth Zoom by MediaTek guarantees a single subject can be locked on while isolating both visuals and audio elements during capture.

Additional improvements include extended Bluetooth phone-to-phone connectivity up to 10km (6.6 times farther than the previous version), BeiDou satellite support for faster positioning even without mobile signal, and Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band concurrency and MediaTek’s Xtra Range 3.0 for up to 30 meters more coverage. Devices powered by the Dimensity 9400+ are expected to hit the market later this month. OPPO has confirmed that its upcoming Find X8s and X8s+ will feature the chipset, along with the vivo X200s and realme GT7.
