MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC demolishes the Snapdragon 765G on AnTuTu

In the smartphone SoC market, Qualcomm and MediaTek does have a huge competition, the Taiwanese silicon giant has impressed with its new Dimensity SoCs this year. These 7 nm based Dimensity SoCs have tremendous performance and goes head-to-head with Qualcomm and even dominates it.

MediaTek’s new Dimensity 820 SoC is a mid-ranged SoC with four high-performance Arm Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.6GHz and the other four efficiency Cortex-A55 cores continue to be clocked at 2.0GHz. On the graphics front, the SoC features 5-core Arm Mali G57 GPU.

So, naturally, the Dimensity 820 SoC is a powerful SoC and its AnTuTu scores prove it, the Dimensity 820 recorded scores of 415,277 and 415,672 points on AnTuTu.

This new 7nm SoC from MediaTek defeated Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G by +7% and +37% in Geekbench 4.2 tests while gained a massive 300% higher performance in AI benchmarks. Featuring on the new Redmi 10X will make this device a powerful mid-range smartphone and even better than the Redmi K30.

The Snapdragon 765G powered Redmi K30 just scores 329,704 points which is significantly lower than the Dimensity 820. Redmi has touted the performance as “flagship par” and which is indeed so because most of the flagships these days manage to score around 500,000 points or even 600,000 points.

So, with 400k points this mid-ranged device with 5G support will be the one to look for, now the pricing and availability will be a key factor, nevertheless, more devices featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC are to be seen in the coming months.
