MediaTek announces a new 7nm chipset designed for 5G smartphones, the MediaTek Dimensity 700. It is a new addition to the Dimensity family of MediaTek. Having the similarity with the other Dimensity chipsets, it is a 7nm chipset and it has 8 cores. Two of them are big ARM Cortex-A76s clocked at 2.2 GHz. Other ones are comparatively smaller A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz. As per the GPU, it is a 950MHz Mali-G57 MC2.
In terms of performance, it will definitely be slightly faster and can manage smooth handovers between different 5G connections. The throughput layer coverage is over 30% compared to the other solutions. As per OEM, it supports 5G-CA 2CC. Regarding the other specs, the Dimensity 700 chipset has 5G UltraSave. It is quite helpful in terms of saving battery life. This chipset is quite ideal for the upcoming mid-range 5G smartphones.
Let’s check out what we can expect from a phone which is powered by this MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The device might support a Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. In terms of camera, there should be multiple rear cameras with a 64MP primary sensor. Apart from this, different functionalities such as bokeh effect, beauty mode, advanced low light capturing are there as well.
In terms of RAM, this Dimensity 700 chipset can be paired with a maximum of 12GB of 2133MHz LP-DDR4X RAM. Regarding the connectivity, there will be the support of dual SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.1. So, we can expect some real good mid-range smartphones in the future which will be powered by this Dimensity 700 chipset.
