### What Is Season 3 About?

In the third and final season, *Survival of the Thickest* will continue to explore the personal and professional adventures, triumphs, and missteps of Mavis and her friends. The teaser says it all. When Mavis is told to show her good side, her response? “It’s all my sides” — a single moment that captures everything the show has always been about: confidence that isn’t performed. ### An Insane Guest Star Lineup

### Behind the Camera: A New Milestone

In addition to starring and writing, Buteau serves as creator and executive producer — and both she and co-creator Danielle Sanchez-Witzel will make their **directorial debuts** in the final season. Buteau will direct episode 5, and Sanchez-Witzel takes the camera for episode 3. [ScreenRant](https://screenrant.com/survival-of-the-thicketst-season-3-release-date-trailer-netflix/)

This isn’t just a final season — it’s a full creative homecoming for its makers.

### The Show’s Journey So Far

Based on Buteau’s 2020 memoir of the same name, *Survival of the Thickest* — which holds a **93% score on Rotten Tomatoes** — follows Mavis, a Black stylist living in New York, forced to reinvent her life and career after a brutal breakup that has her questioning everything.
