Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Matt Turner from New England Revolution. The player has signed a three-year contract, with the option for another year included. He will earn £7.5 million as part of the contract.
The North London side agreed a deal worth £5.5 million for the goalkeeper, and the total amount could go up to £7.5 million when the add-ons are put into the equation. The American shotstopper will be wearing the number 30 shirt with Arsenal.

Here is what Mikel Arteta had to say about the recruitment of the goalkeeper:
“Matt is an experienced goalkeeper who will bring high quality to our squad. He has shown with his performances in recent years in both the MLS and at international level with the United States that he is a goalkeeper who will give us added strength going into next season. We welcome Matt and his family to the club and we look forward to working together in the years to come.”
The arrival of the new player means that he will be the main backup option for Arteta. With Bernd Leno falling out of favour and Aaron Ramsdale seizing the opportunity presented, it is likely that the German will be sold this transfer window to make way for Matt Turner and Ramsdale to become the two prominent goalkeepers at the club.
