Charges against Mason Greenwood for attempted rape, assault and coercive behaviour were dropped recently. But, the player will continue to be excluded from FIFA 23.

He was removed from FIFA 22 following his arrest, and has also been unavailable in Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft. Greenwood was also removed from active squads, and he will continue to be removed until EA Sports can confirm otherwise. The developers have not commented on the situation as of yet, suggesting no change in their stance.

Mason Greenwood will still excluded from FIFA after criminal charges dropped

One of the main reasons behind the charges being dropped against the Manchester United forward was the withdrawal of key witnesses. He has gone on to release a statement on the situation which is as follows:

“I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support”

“There will be no further comment at this time.”

Although the criminal proceedings against him have ended, Manchester United have not allowed him to return to training. They have released a statement, and have confirmed that they will conduct their own investigation on the matter before making any other comment.

Erik Ten Hag was asked about the matter at a press conference as well, and deferred all questions to the statement of the club. He refrained from commenting on any questions, including about whether he had ever spoken to Mason Greenwood at all.
