Insomniac Games is only a few days away from the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 (PS5), but that hasn’t stopped it from teasing what Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 might have in store. During an interview on YouTuber Skill Up’s Friends Per Second show, creative director Bryan Intihar discussed the possibility of a third installment in the heroic epic.
The possibilities for a future Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 look practically limitless now that the latest addition has opened up a multitude of doors for Insomniac. When asked what components the team would like to include in a future game, Intihar tried to be secretive while giving fans something to cling to.
Insomniac wants to make the Spider-Man franchise to the level of MCU
Intihar appears to be comparing Insomniac’s Spider-Man series to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film franchise. The series began modestly with the original Iron Man film and gradually rose in budget and size with productions such as Captain America: Civil War. Most people are aware that today’s MCU has included universe-ending fights, with films like Avengers: Endgame bringing together dozens of characters from over a decade of films.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 may not be an Endgame or Infinity War-level project, but it appears that Intihar is willing to take risks. It’s worth noting that Insomniac has not announced whether a third installment in its superhero video game series is in the works. However, Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of PlayStation’s most popular gaming series, and it would be surprising if a third game didn’t come to fruition at some point.
