Hawkeye will be among the launch characters in Marvel Rivals, which means fans of either Marvel Games or NetEase Games can expect a very diverse selection of heroes to pick from as the two publishers join forces with the part.
The game will have all heroes available right from launch and will be free to play, releasing on December 6. As well as the inclusion of Hawkeye, the developers also announced a new map set in Wakanda. The Birnin T′Challa map, set in the high-tech city of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, will add another unique setting to the game.

Hawkeye Joins Marvel Rivals Launch Roster, New Wakanda Map Revealed
To celebrate the announcement of these additions, Marvel Games and NetEase Games released a trailer revealing Hawkeye’s addition and giving an early look at the new Birnin T’Challa map.
A developer diary was also started five days ago covering some of the bigger choices when creating the game and the future seasons plan for Marvel Rivals. It will launch with Season 0, called Doom’s Rise, which lasts one month. Players will be able to choose from 33 heroes and eight maps for this period, both in Quick Match and Competitive modes.
It will also feature a Conquest map and a new Practice Range for players to hone their skills before heading into combat. The Doom’s Rise season will pivot around the havoc wreaked by Doctor Doom’s experiments in time, providing an interesting plot thread for players to chase. Due to the short duration of Season 0, a battle pass will be available, though it will offer half the content of a full seasonal pass, priced accordingly for the month-long season.
Costumes and cosmetics based on the comics, MCU, and even a storyline in Marvel Rivals will rotate in the in-game store regularly. And one of the collections, called Imperial Protocol, is inspired by Afrofuturism and embodies the splendor of the Wakandan empire.
