Marvel 1943: Rise of the Hydra Still on Track for Holiday 2025 Launch, Says Black Panther Voice Actor
Black Panther voice actor Khary Payton has now shed some light on the game’s status. In an interview with the outlet, he reiterated that the team is still aiming for a Holiday 2025 release. He noted a Christmas launch window specifically and said he was excited to portray Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather. Payton called the game’s visuals some of the most photorealistic he’s seen and stressed the cinematic experience the developers are pushing for. He hoped players would engage with it as they do a big TV series, like Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead.
This was shown off a month ago when the UE5 CRUD version of the game was displayed by Unreal Engine at Unreal Engine’s GDC 2024 live stream. The technology is expected to deliver striking visuals and superb immersion. The project is being led by industry stalwart Amy Hennig, known for her work on Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Uncharted, and Battlefield: Hardline. She also contributed to Project Ragtag, an unmade Star Wars game that was being worked on at Visceral Games before the studio shut down.
