Episode 7 opens with the Marshals team assigned to protect a federal judge, her husband Blake, and their daughter Fallon after a car bomb nearly kills the family. [Country Rebel](https://countryrebel.com/marshals-ep-7-recap-kayce-entertains-new-romance/) The twist? It was Blake — not the judge — who was the real target, as he had been secretly operating as an international arms dealer behind the cover of a non-profit organization for years. ## **The Real Story: Kayce & Dolly — Is It Dating or a Land Grab?**

The episode kicks off with Kayce making good on a promise to show Dolly Weaver around Montana. They rode horses, swapped complicated backstories, and shared a genuinely lovely afternoon — until Dolly’s father crashed dinner with a business proposal to buy Kayce’s East Camp ranch.

When Dolly tried to kiss Kayce, he pulled back — later confessing to Andrea that being with Dolly felt like a betrayal of Monica. [FandomWire](https://fandomwire.com/marshals-season-1-episode-recap/) Andrea’s response was the emotional gut-punch of the episode: moving on isn’t about replacing someone, it’s about making space for new feelings.

The episode ends with Dolly returning to East Camp, asking for another ride — and Kayce surprisingly saying yes, riding off with her. [ScreenRant](https://screenrant.com/marshals-episode-7-monica-replacement-dolly/) It’s not a love confession, but it’s the closest Kayce has come to opening his heart since Monica’s death.

Can you trust Dolly though? Her father’s ill-timed business pitch — trying to fold East Camp into the Weaver cattle empire — raises the uncomfortable question of whether Dolly’s interest in Kayce is genuine or orchestrated. ## **Other Relationship Bombs Dropped**

Cal spotted Belle’s husband Jared out with another woman. When he finally told Belle, she revealed they have an arrangement to see other people — leaving Cal stunned. The two then shared a brief but charged kiss before stopping themselves. [TV Insider](https://www.tvinsider.com/1257502/marshals-season-1-episode-7-recap-sell-dutton-ranch-belle-cal-kiss/)

Meanwhile, Miles finally asked someone out at the bar — only to discover mid-conversation that his date Maddie is actually Cal’s daughter. [Yahoo!](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/marshals-episode-7-pushes-kayce-005900598.html) The awkward fallout is coming.

This layered storytelling is exactly what makes [neo-Western drama](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Western) such a compelling genre — personal battles hit just as hard as the action.
