East Bengal have confirmed the signing of Mark Zothanpuia on a three-year deal from Hyderabad FC. The player becomes the latest to sign for the Red and Gold side after Dimitrios Diamantakos, Madih Talal, Provat Lakra, Debjit Majumder and David Lalhansanga, in what has been an impressive transfer window for them this far.
A player of Zothanpuia’s profile has been in demand for several seasons now, given his all-round capabilities in the heart of the park.

“Mark is a young player with excellent qualities. His versatility will allow us to consider him for different roles to help the team. He has gained a decent amount of ISL experience and is joining Emami East Bengal at the right phase of his career, to reach the next level as a player.
“We’ll give him the right environment to ensure his growth and success,” East Bengal FC Head Coach Carles Cuadrat said.
The youngster made his ISL debut in 2021, and has since racked up 23 appearances in the league, 18 of which came this past season as a regular in the starting line-up.
The Red and Golds have been carefully reinforcing their squad ahead of their return to Asian football after nine years. And now, all that remains is a solid central defender to help them field a significantly improved squad for the coming season.
