Mario Hermoso is set to join Roma as a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of June. The defender has reached an agreement with the Giallorossi and will soon be signing for the club till 2027.
Interestingly, an exit clause has been included in the player’s contract which will be valid for 2026. As a result, he will probably not be leaving for free in 2027, with a clause in place to guarantee a transfer fee to Roma.

The 29-year-old spent five years with Atletico Madrid and won the LaLiga title with the Rojiblancos. However, he opted not to extend his deal with them and depart as a free agent at the end of last season alongside Memphis Depay.
Now, he will be replacing Chris Smalling in the Italian capital with the Englishman on his way to Saudi Arabian club Al-Fahya. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, have signed Robin Le Normand to reinforce their defence heading into the new season alongside Clement Lenglet on a loan deal from Barcelona.
It now remains to be seen how Roma perform with a solid performance in the transfer window this summer.
