Mario Balotelli is in talks with Romanian side Rapid Bucharest for his fifth transfer in six years. The striker currently plays for Swiss team Sion, and is in talks to extend his career with Rapid.

He signed for Sion in the summer of 2022, and has a contract with them until 2024. This season, he has managed six goals in 17 appearances while picking up nine yellow cards.

Mario Balotelli in talks over move to Romania

The former Italy international left Adana Demirspor in Turkey, after playing for them for one year. Six months before that, he was playing for Italian side Monza.

He has played for some of the top clubs in the world such as Manchester City, Inter, Milan, Liverpool and Marseille. However, his lack of discipline and mental fortitude have wasted the talent that he once showed on the pitch. At 32, Mario Balotelli is almost forgotten, but continues to play outside of the top leagues in the continent.

Right now, Sion fans are burning his jersey for a lack of effort on the pitch. And things are expected to end in predictable fashion for the forward once again. He has said that he has no regrets on the way his career has played out, and it is anybody’s guess how a potential move to Romania would play out for him.
