Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is gradually becoming a role model for many people. He first came out in support of the “#BlackLivesMatter” movement and now he has gone one step forward to convince the government to provide a summer food fund for struggling families in England.

Rashford published a letter publicly on Instagram requesting the government to provide food to the school kids outside the school term this summer. He used his popularity to gain support for this campaign.

England Prime Minister Boris Johnson has listened to his request and declared to provide school funds in order to give free food to around 1.3 million kids. The government would provide COVID summer food funding of around $150 million.

Boris Johnson’s spokesperson said: “Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the prime minister fully understands that children and parents face an entirely unprecedented situation over the summer. To reflect this we will be providing a COVID summer food fund.”

I don’t even know what to say.
Just look at what we can do when we come together, THIS is England in 2020.

Rashford told BBC Breakfast: “It’s becoming more normal that people speak out on topics that they believe in and I think it’s just positive for the future. Just look at the generations after us – hopefully, it becomes a normal thing and people actually want to do that and put themselves forward to do that.”

He spoke with Boris Johnson on Tuesday and said the Prime Minister thanked him “for using what I’ve built in a positive manner”. He added: “It’s a nice feeling but I’m happy that people’s lives are going to be changed for the better so that was the important thing that I tried to change. It’s obviously a proud moment.”

The 22-year-old England forward has done a wonderful job to help out the needy kids. He has also helped to raise around 20 million pounds with charity FareShare to supply meals to struggling families in England.
