Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is an undisputed legend at the Westfalenstadion, and his accomplishment today has exactly shown that. The attacking midfielder is the first Dortmund player to score 100+ goals and also register 100 assists for the club.
This stat only goes to show that the player not only has the ability to score but to create chances as well. And his talent is one of the main reasons why Borussia Dortmund is still one of the top clubs in Europe. In the Black and Yellow club’s Bundesliga game today against Augsburg, Raphael Guerreiro scored the first goal from the penalty spot.
Julian Brandt bagged the second goal of the game to give the hosts the lead once again in the game after Augsburg had equalised, and Reus was the provider for his compatriot shortly after half time.
Reus made the move to Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach and has remained at the club ever since. While clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have come calling for him, he has stayed at the club and has shown his loyalty to the club instead of moving to a top club. On the other hand, his teammates throughout the years such as Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels and Jadon Sancho have all moved to bigger clubs.
This just goes to show how much Reus loves Dortmund and is truly loyal to the black and yellow shirt and the fans of the club.
