Marco Asensio has been offered to several Premier League clubs over the last few weeks as an exit looms for him. The player has been exploring options away from Real Madrid considering he isn’t getting a lot of game time.

Manchester United were interested in signing him in case the deal for Antony did not go through. But with the Brazilian joining United, Arsenal could make a last ditch move for the Spanish winger late in the transfer window. Or else, he could walk away for free next summer when his contract expires.

Marco Asensio to leave Real Madrid?

🚨🎖| There are no direct negotiations with Real Madrid for Arsenal, but the relationship with Jorge Mendes is always very good, so it could be a last-minute idea. But at the moment there is not negotiations. Asensio is looking for an opportunity. @FabrizioRomano

“I don’t know anything new about Asensio, only that he is assessing his situation. On September 2 everything will be clarified and if he stays he will be an important player and I will be delighted, because last year he contributed a lot to the team and this season he would too,” Carlo Ancelotti said about the situation.

“[If Asensio leaves] I’m counting on Mariano, but he has the best in the world in that position ahead of him and it’s difficult for him,” he added.

“We have a squad in which we have a lot of resources. If Marco leaves we’re not going to sign anyone because we don’t need them.”

Marco Asensio joined Real Madrid in 2015, and has been in and out of the squad. With Rodrygo and Federico Valverde also competing for game time on the right side, it will be difficult for him to seal a regular spot down. So, a move away for more game time could be on the cards.
