Marcel Sabitzer is all set to join Manchester United on a loan deal with no option to buy from Bayern Munich. The midfielder immediately accepted the proposal from the Premier League club, and has decided to take on a new challenge for the second half of the season.
He has completed the medical for the move and has arrived in Manchester. As things stand, he is expected to return to Bayern at the end of his loan spell.
Marcel Sabitzer joins Manchester United on loan
The former RB Leipzig captain will be the replacement for Christian Eriksen for the second half of the campaign. The Dane is ruled out for most of the remainder of the season with an ankle injury, which is one of the reasons why the Red Devils have decided to go in for him.
The documents are currently being prepared for the move to go through, and Erik Ten Hag personally wanted him to join.
This season, Sabitzer has racked up 1009 minutes, making 24 appearances for Bayern Munich across all competitions. He has been used very sparingly by Julian Nagelsmann, and has a chance to gain more time on the pitch at Old Trafford.
Marcel Sabitzer has earned 68 international caps for the Austrian national team, scoring 12 goals so far. His ability to lead from the heart of the park will also prove to be very useful for the team during the important latter half of the season.
