On Friday, the German giants, Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona in an emphatic 8-2 win, a horrible night in the history of Barcelona, conceding 8 goals in a single match. Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper of Bayern didn’t have much trouble that night because of his teammates, on the other hand, his German teammate Ter Stegan had a rough night playing for a demotivates Barca.
“I feel a bit of pity for Marc for letting in so many goals,” said Neuer. “Obviously this is a great result for us but you don’t want to see one of your national team-mates experience something like this.”
Ter Stegan has made a wonderful progress for last couple of years and has led the team’s backline while his German teammate, Neuer has been first choice goalkeeper for Germany since 2010. There’s a huge debate regarding selection of Neuer over Ter Stegan in Germany but there’s no denial both of them are world-class goalkeeper.
Although, Barca’s keeper did hope to shine in Lisbon to help boost his chances of replacing Neuer for the German team. However, the demolishing loss where he let in four goals in each of the half is his worst moment for the club in years.
