Manuel Locatelli is set to meet with Juventus in the next hours to discuss a transfer from Sassuolo. The Bianconeri have long been interested in the midfielder, and he could finally make the switch this summer.

Arsenal are also interested in the player and have a bid ready for a while now. Their financial offer is reportedly better than that of Juventus. However, they are waiting to see what stance Juventus reach. That is because Locatelli’s first choice is joining the former champions of Italy ahead of all other options.

He also wants to compete in the Champions League, and that is something that Juventus can offer him while Arsenal cannot. The Gunners finished 8th in their first full season under Mikel Arteta, and will not compete in any European competition this year. They are in the market for a creative midfielder, but will most likely miss out on the Italy international since he prefers making the switch to Juventus.

Locatelli came through the AC Milan academy and was subsequently sold to Sassuolo. He has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in the country and recently won the Euro with Italy. He was very impressive during his appearances for the Azzurri in the competition, and now is the perfect time for him to make the switch to a big club.

Sassuolo are looking at Marko Grujic as a replacement for Locatelli since it seems almost certain that he will leave this summer.
