Manu Bhaker has been named India’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony of the Olympics. The shooter became the first Indian woman to win two bronze medals in the same edition of the games, first in the 10mm air pistol event, and then in the mixed 10mm pistol category.

The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 will be held on August 11 at the Stade de France. As things stand, the IOC has not revealed plans for the ceremony. However, Bhaker’s role has now been confirmed.

“It is an honour and privilege to be named as India’s flagbearer for the Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympics. Leading the outstanding Indian contingent with the tricolour in my hands with millions around the world watching is a truly humbling opportunity and one that I will cherish forever. I am grateful to The IOA for considering me worthy of this honour, and I look forward to raising the Indian flag with immense pride. Jai Hind!“ the shooter wrote on her Twitter/X account.

So far, Bhaker alone has won two out of India’s three medals at the Olympics this year. She has turned things around from the heartbreak of the 2020 Tokyo edition of the games, and has now written her name in history.

The opening ceremony saw PV Sindhu and Achanta Sharath Kamal emerge as India’s flag bearers at the Olympics.

Where can I watch the Olympics closing ceremony in India?

On the Jio Cinema app and Sports 18 channel on TV.
