Manchester United will be hosting their #ILoveUnited event in Kolkata on 16 October, after promising to return to India last season. Six Indian cities were shortlisted initially, but Kolkata emerged as the favourite by 33 percent of votes.

The club will carry out their promotional event over the course of three weeks, and will culminate in a live-match screening at the Big Lawn in Nicco Park from 1600 IST. The event will be attended by former United players Wes Brown and Mikael Silvestre, who ended their careers with Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin FC respectively.

The Manchester United vs Newcastle United game will have a unique Matchday Live experience. Supporters at Nicco Park will play an important part in that, and will potentially be broadcasted live during the club’s channels.

Following the game, both Wes Brown and Mikael Silvestre will be interacting with supporters throughout the event, with giveaways, photo opportunities and football challenges also planned.

And over the course of the three-week event, special fans across the world will drop down for an interview on the UTD Podcast.

The event is free to register, and the last date is October 9. A ballot will determine the people who will be able to attend at random, and will be informed via e-mail by October 12.
