Manchester United midfielder Fred is attracting interest from Turkish club Fenerbahce for a transfer this summer. The player has been told that he is unlikely to have a lot of playing time this season, with a number of options available for Erik Ten Hag.
United have recruited Mason Mount to bolster their midfield, and are also in talks with Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina to reinforce their midfield. Fred’s contract is set to expire next summer, which means he would be able to walk out as a free agent. And instead of letting him walk out, the club has decided to cash in on him this summer itself.
Manchester United midfielder Fred likely to move to Turkey
Fenerbahce have made an official bid to United worth €15 million for the Brazilian. The agreement between the two clubs is close and could be confirmed very soon once the details have been finalised.
He has spent five years with the Premier League club, having signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for £47 million. The midfielder has made 139 appearances for the club during this time, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League.
United could also sell defender Eric Bailly to Turkey, with Besiktas interested in recruiting him. They are waiting to see if the club terminates his contract before signing him for free, to avoid paying a transfer fee.
