Manchester United humbled 3-0 by Tottenham at Old Trafford as Bruno Fernandes sees red

Manchester United have suffered their third defeat of the season, with Tottenham defeating them 3-0 at Old Trafford. The hosts were reduced to 10 men near half time, when captain Bruno Fernandes was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge.

The Red Devils were unable to grow into the game after Brennan Johnson gave the visitors the lead following Micky van de Ven’s incredible assist. They had very few clear cut opportunities, and Vicario denied them on multiple occasions.

Manchester United convincingly defeated by Tottenham

Dejan Kulusevski scored his first goal of the season with an acrobatic finish early in the second half, before Dominic Solanke netted a third. Andre Onana had to make a number of important saves in the second half, as it could have been much worse for the Red Devils.

To add to the issues, Kobbie Mainoo might have picked up a knock as he was substituted following Bruno Fernandes’ red card. Mason Mount came on for him, but was substituted for Amad Diallo towards the end of the game.

The pressure mounts on Erik Ten Hag, as Manchester United are now 12th in the table with seven points from six games. Spurs, on the other hand, are in eighth with 10 points.

Who is at the top of the PL table now?

Liverpool
