Manchester United finished 3rd last season and things were beginning to look bright for the Red Devils. But as this new season started, United are back to their old selves.
United lost their opening game at Old Trafford to Crystal Palace by 3-1 and after that Tottenham Hotspur humiliated them by a 6-1 scoreline.
Although their recent away form looked good after they won 4-1 against Newcastle United and 2-1 against PSG, they failed to win over Chelsea at Old Trafford and was held 0-0.
This is the first time since the 1972-73 season that Manchester United have failed to win any of their opening three home league games.
United were expected to sign Sancho this summer but they failed once again, though they made some deadline day signings in the form of Cavani and Alex Telles.
Ole has failed in controlling the wheel till now. In their last home game against Chelsea, they failed to produce something extraordinary in the final third. Chelsea was keeping much of the possession but Manchester United tried to take the advantages in quick counter-attacks and breaks. But Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was excellent to deny Manchester United to find the back of the net.
Edinson Cavani made his Manchester United debut in the second half. He looked in a scoring mood but failed to find the back of the net due to some brilliant defending by his old PSG teammate Thiago Silva.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to find a solution quickly in order to restore Old Trafford to its glory days. It used to be a fortress, but sadly, now it is far from it.
