Manchester is in serious trouble regarding a goalkeeping crisis. Both Dean Henderson and Sergio Romero want to leave the club in January.
Manchester United brought back Dean Henderson from Sheffield United as the second goalkeeper of the team. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left out Sergio Romero from his Premier League and UEFA Champions League squad.
But now, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is considering a loan move in January after England coach Gareth Southgate told him that he needs to play more games to be considered as a number 1 spot for England in Euro.
The English goalkeeper has featured in only 3 games this season, two games in Carabao Cup, and one in UEFA Champions League. After a fantastic season with Sheffield United in Premier League last season, he is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season.
Dean Henderson needs a team where he can play regularly. It will be helpful for him as well to become the number 1 of England.
On the other hand, Sergio Romero also decided to leave the club in January after ill-treated by the club and the management.
Everton was interested in Sergio Romero in the last transfer window on loan. They offered a £2 million fee and to cover the goalkeeper’s £100,000-a-week salary in full. But United was demanding a permanent sale and Carlo Ancelotti’s side ended up signing Robin Olsen on loan from Roma instead.
A few days back Sergio Romero’s wife in her social media handles stated against the club’s treatment towards the Argentine goalkeeper.
If Romero doesn’t leave Manchester United then he will hardly play a match this season. So he wants to leave the club as soon as possible.
Manchester United will only have Lee Grant as the back up to David De Gea if both of them leave the club in January.
