Manchester United have officially announced the signing of their new manager, Erik Ten Hag, from the 22/23 season. The Dutchman will be the long-term replacement for Ralf Rangnick at the club. He will finish the current season with Ajax before making the switch to the Premier League next term.
Ajax will receive a €2 million release clause for the manager. He has signed a contract with Manchester United until June 2025 with the option for another year. After a lengthy set of negotiations, he has been given the nod by all parties involved.

Here is what the Dutchman had to say about his new endeavour in England: “It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”
Ten Hag’s appointment comes shortly after Ajax’s loss in the KNVB Cup final against PSV Eindhoven. They are still leading the Eredivisie table, and will be hopeful of securing the league title to give their head coach a worthy send-off.
