Manchester United failed to win an away game for the first time in the Premier League this season against Leicester City today. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Manchester United took the lead against the Foxes in the 23rd minute. Marcus Rashford gave the Red Devils the desired lead as he scored the 50th Premier League goal of his career. But the lead was short-lived as Harvey Barnes scored the equalizer in the 31st minute with a left-footed strike past David De Gea.

In the second half, Manchester United again took the lead from an excellent finish by Bruno Fernandes from a fabulous pass from Edinson Cavani. Bruno Fernandes became the first Portuguese to score 10 goals in a Premier League season after Cristiano Ronaldo. Leicester City responded with a Jamie Vardy shot deflected in by Axel Tuanzebe.

After the match, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said, “I thought it was a really good game.”

“Two attacking teams … I thought our counter-pressing was really good. I thought we were very impressive in the first half. Second half we had to defend a little it more. We had lots of good moments when we were playing through … maybe lacked our final pass.”

“We went 2-1 behind and it’s perhaps the thing we’ve been talking about – we had our enthusiasm and our confidence and it really showed the mentality of our team.”- he added.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, “We had loads of big chances and we could have finished it off, but Leicester are a dangerous side”

“Marcus’s first chance was a glorious one but it was just one of those things. Both their goals should have been closed down quicker – you always look at goals conceded and think you should have done better. We’ve got a game in three days … an extra recovery day which we’ll use wisely.”

Manchester United failed to capitalize on the chance of going to the second position. They will face Wolves at home in their next game in the Premier League.
