The stadium has retained its name for 114 years, but the alternative is for ticket prices to rise to address the immediate need for a £1 billion investment. The alternative is a rise in ticket prices, which could provoke fans further, given proved have already risen by 5 percent for the 2024/25 season.
Big clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona and Dortmund have already sanctioned a sale of the naming rights to their stadium, in an attempt to raise funds. And now, it seems like Old Trafford could follow suit given the need for funds.
The stadium was last renovated in 2006, when the Glazers took charge. And since then, the consequence of the neglect has been visible. And it now remains to be seen whether things will change with the arrival of INEOS.
