Manchester United have recruited Ewan Sharp as their new assistant coach and analyst. He will be working alongside Ralf Rangnick, and joins the club from Lokomotiv Moscow, the same club that Rangnick was working as an assistant at.
Sharp was seen in training today, alongside the returning Cristiano Ronaldo. Rangnick was told that he could bring his own assistants to the team when he was appointed. Michael Carrick has left the club after being temporarily in charge of the first team.
Kieran McKenna has also decided to leave and start a new journey as the new manager of Ipswich Town. Ralf Rangnick is aware of the importance of continuity in the team, and has hence decided to keep Mike Phelan as one of his assistants.
How has Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United spell been so far?
Ralf Rangnick has helped Manchester United earn two back-to-back wins after taking charge of the club. He has been using a 4-2-2-2 formation with the Red Devils, which he is famous for.
We have also seen the Gegenpressing style that was predicted with the arrival of the 63-year-old. With the winter transfer window approaching, a number of departures are expected as Rangnick starts reshaping the first team.
Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are among the players rumoured to leave in January. However, the manager has not given any solid information about business during the winter transfer window.
Manchester United’s last few games have been suspended due to a Coronavirus outbreak, and they are expected to return to action in the new year.
