Manchester United are reportedly ahead of Arsenal in the race for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. The player joined the Midlands club from Porto in 2017, and has made over 150 appearances for the club. He has established himself as a vital part of the team, and helped the team get into the Europa League from the Championship.

Arsenal are interested in the player since Granit Xhaka will be leaving the Emirates to work alongside Jose Mourinho at Roma. The Swiss international is pushing to leave the club, and a deal is expected to be agreed in the weeks to come. On the other hand, Manchester United are considering the idea of selling Paul Pogba to PSG.

They have not opened contract talks with the French international yet, and if he wants to leave, PSG will be one of the few clubs who can pay his wages. He has only one year left on his current deal with United, and if they don’t agree a new contract, they will have to lose him for nothing next year. Should Pogba leave, it would make sense for United to go after Neves as a replacement.

Mino Raiola is currently in contact with PSG and is discussing personal terms with the French club for a potential transfer.

Right now, Jorge Mendes is in contact with Arsenal for a potential transfer for his client. The Gunners will have to cough up a sum worth £35 million if they want Neves, which should be manageable once Xhaka leaves and funds are raised.
