Premier League Chief Executive Officer Richard Masters has revealed that a date to hear Manchester City’s case of 115 FFP breaches has been set. However, he didn’t mention a date to the public, only saying that it would take place in the “near future”.

“We can’t comment on the case, the date is set. The case will resolve itself at some point in the near future. I can’t make any further comment on it,” Masters said when asked about City’s breaches.

The Sky Blues have been charged with false accounting and financial fraud for over nine seasons. As a result of this case, they could face a points deduction, a fine, as well as relegation from the Premier League altogether.

This season, Everton and Nottingham Forest have been docked points for not being compliant with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. However, City’s case is a bit different as it deals with accounting malpractices.

As such, Manchester City have welcomed the investigation into their accounts. They are complying with the Premier League’s efforts to reach the truth of the matter, and a decision will hopefully be made in the summer once the season ends.
