Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Brazilian winger Savinho from Atletico Mineiro. The player was a long-term target for the Sky Blues, and has reached an agreement with them for a move in the summer.
The deal has been agreed upon, and has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that it is as good as done. According to the transfer insider, Manchester City will be paying a transfer fee worth €6.5 million, along with a sell-on clause in the player’s contract.
Savinho to join City group in the summer
The player will be making the move to one of the City group clubs in the summer transfer window. Paperworks for the transfer are set to be signed and delivered in the coming hours to finalise the transfer.
Arsenal, RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg had their eyes on the talented winger. But, Manchester City have ultimately won the race for the player by reaching an agreement with Atletico Mineiro and completing the formalities with them.
Savinho has scored four goals in six appearances for the Brazil Under-16s national team. He has made 23 appearances for the club, and is set to be a valuable addition for the City group.
A previous report suggested that he could be loaned out to PSV Eindhoven for the 2022/23 season for development before linking up with Manchester City. And that might still be the case now that an agreement has been reached between City and Mineiro.
