More good news follows for Manchester City fans on the back of the 0-1 victory away at Bramall Lane on a rainy Sheffield evening. The club has successfully negotiated the signing of wonderkid Filip Stevanovic from Partizan Belgrade.

The youngster will not be linking up with the rest of the squad just yet, since the deal will be formally going through in the upcoming winter transfer window.

With the likes of Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres and Phil Foden already contesting a starting berth on the wings, it seems unlikely that Stevanovic will be able to get any minutes in the Premier League.

His appearances will most likely be restricted to the cup ties when the squads are rotated.

However, spending only €8 million in total for the talented teenager could be a great investment in the long run if he lives up to his potential in England.

Much like City’s poster boy for the future, Phil Foden, Stevanovic has the ability to play out on the wings, as well as attacking through the middle. However, in contrast to the England international, he prefers to stay out on the left-wing.

The player rose through the ranks at the Partizan academy and made his debut in 2018 at the age of 16. Since then, he has made 40 appearances for the club to date and has scored 10 goals, while assisting 5 in the Serbian league.

The 18-year-old currently represents the Serbian U-21 team as well. He has earned a couple of caps for the Under 21 team and will look to break into the first team in the years to come. His move to England will go a long way in staking his claim for a spot in the men’s national team.

In 11 appearances this season, Stevanovic has scored 3 goals and has assisted 2. With experienced players to guide him and plenty of room for growth at Manchester City, the Serbian could be one for the future when he is eventually given his chance.
