Manchester City are notorious for spending big money on transfers ever since the takeover. But they haven’t invested a dime in any new players in the January transfer window and will hold off their investments till the summer transfer window that will open when the season ends.

The Sky Blues are rumoured to be interested in bolstering their attack during the summer. The main reason behind their search for a centre-forward arises from the uncertainty around Sergio Aguero’s contract situation at the club. The Argentinian’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and he hasn’t, as of yet, agreed on a new deal with the club.

Speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio said that things would appear a lot more clear around the contract talks in the upcoming weeks.

Elsewhere, contract talks between Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City are still progressing and there is a general feeling of wanting to achieve a mutual agreement so that the Belgian, arguably their best player over the last year, extends his stay with the club.

Romano and Porzio also indicated that next season, we could see many new young faces at the club, suggesting that City are willing to invest their future in a new generation of players.
