Manchester City are expected to launch an official bid for Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella in the coming days. The Spaniard has been strongly linked with a switch to the Etihad Stadium only one season after joining the Seagulls.
And now, the Premier League champions are set to offer around £45 million plus add-ons for the player. By the looks of things, the Seagulls will not be standing in the way of the left-back to join Manchester City if the offer arrives.
Manchester City’s transfer plans after Sterling and Jesus deals
Gabriel Jesus recently left the club to join Arsenal in a deal worth £45 million plus add-ons. The club has agreed a similar amount with Chelsea for Raheem Sterling, which would offset the cost of signing Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips.
The Sky Blues are now planning to extend the contracts of some key players in their squad. Phil Foden and Rodri are two of the priorities for the board in terms of new deals. Riyad Mahrez could also be offered fresh terms, given that he is coming to the end of his current deal.
It has been a very successful summer window for the Premier League winners, having signed Julian Alvarez from River Plate too. They are likely to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko if they go for Marc Cucurella, with the Ukrainian being the current option on the left side of the defense.
