Manchester City are exploring the possibility of letting Oleksandr Zinchenko leave the club this summer as they target Marc Cucurella. The Ukrainian is out of a contract with City in 2024, and could be headed to Everton or Arsenal who maintain an interest in signing him.

Pep Guardiola is looking to add reinforcements to the left-back position despite Joao Cancelo proving that he is more than capable to play on either side of the back four. As a result, this will be an interesting summer to see whether Zinchenko will move on.

Manchester City’s left-back pursuit continues

Benjamin Mendy has been suspended indefinitely due to his behaviour off the pitch, and Zinchenko is the only other option available apart from Cancelo. Guardiola wants to sign former Barcelona player Marc Cucurella, who has been making waves with Brighton this past season.

He joined the Seagulls from Getafe only last summer, and enjoyed a very impressive debut campaign in the Premier League. Clubs like Chelsea are also in the race for the Spaniard, but Manchester City are ahead and are preparing an official bid to sign him.

With several years remaining on his contract, Brighton are under no pressure to sell the 23-year-old. They are also expected to quote a big price tag given that his contract runs until 2026. But money is not expected to be an issue for the Premier League champions, and they might end up signing Cucurella despite the obstacles.
