Manchester United have agreed on a fee with Manchester City for teenager Charlie McNeill. According to Manchester Evening News, the price could rise up to £1.35M.

McNeil has refused to sign a new contract after the expiration of his earlier contract in June this year. However, he did not turn 17 until this week, and anybody that wanted to sign the goal-scorer still had to negotiate a fee with his former club or risk a tribunal deciding his true value.

United is so keen to add him to their youth squad. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is signing a lot of youths which surely indicates his plans are long-term and involve young players. His team’s average is just 25 years which is the youngest team in EPL.

After joining as a manager he has given many academy graduates a chance in the first team. Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams are two key players of the first team after a breakthrough last season. Every academy graduates are dreaming to replicate their journey.

Red Devils have already signed Alejandro Garnacho, Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez, Isak Hansen-Aaron, Joe Hugill, Logan Pye, and Radek Vitek to their youth team this summer.

The MEN also reported that United have agreed an initial £750,000 potentially rising to £1.35m, with City also will financially benefit from any future sale.

The confirmation of the deal is expected to be announced soon.
